As a renowned expert in pharmacovigilance, Dr Petracek was invited to lecture in London at the course for "Pharmacovigilance Planning and Risk Management" organized by the Drug Safety Research Unit in the UK in November 2013.
It is essential to maintain apro-active approach to risk management of drug safety throughout the whole life-cycle of a medicinal product. The aim of this course is to critically explore existing and developing strategies designed to plan and optimise risk management activities for known and potential risks of newly approved drugs. Dr. Petracek will describe from a practical point of view the process of the production and approval of a risk management plan and the factors to be considered during the implementation of the plan.
